Certified Master Dog Groomer Annett Whitelum of NSW has been crowned Supreme Royal Groomer at this year’s Sydney Royal grooming championship, with a silky, black English Cocker Spaniel.
The prestigious grooming competition, hosted by the Pet Industry Association of Australia, features the very best dog groomers from around Australia.
Whitelum, who runs Turners & Pooch Pet Salon on the Central Coast says, “I’ve been training very hard to prepare for this competition, and winning this award is a huge accomplishment. It shows me I’m on track for the World Dog Grooming competition in October in Italy, where I will be representing Australia.”
Whitelum competed against four other elite dog groomers – Lauren Novak of South Australia, Helen Forester of Western Australia, James Bennett of Queensland and Dani Segal from Victoria.
The Best in Show and Sydney Royal Groomer titles were both awarded to seasoned NSW competitor, Wendy Wouters of WE GROOM in Luddenham. Wouters, who has showcased her talents in Europe, America and New Zealand, has earned a place in the 2016 Supreme Royal Groomer competition representing her state.
